I
For some reason, I started thinking about the OC over breakfast. You know the TV show where the poor kid from Chino comes to the Orange County and snares the hottest girl in school. It was a good show. I wonder what Zizek would make of it. I love his critique of Titanic. Yesterday, we didn’t do too much. I got rid of Spotify both as an artist and as a listener. It just doesn’t feel right. I also resolved to put all my old stuff back on bandcamp. One of my friends has compared my Bandcamp oeuvre to the tapes Daniel Johnston used to hand out outside McDonalds. It’s nice to be compared to such a brillant artist and somebody, who I share quite a lot with. It’s important to resist the urge to try to make more of the music or the writing in a success sense. Success is for my hipsters, I need to know my place and that is as an outsider artist. That’s why Bandcamp fits perfectly. It’s more ethical and I will also be using it for music discovery from now on. I can release my lo-fi demos and my well recorded stuff on the same platform without compromising on my artistic integrity. I read about myself on ChatGPT. There’s a lot of Tim Chase info on there. Nothing on The Real Tim Chase though, which is just as well. My sister and I went for coffee in Queen Anne yesterday. We went past the board games store and I asked whether they had any sports board games. Unfortunately not, except for a skating game and an F1 game. It shows how difficult it is to make a really good soccer game. My father and I have been trying on and off for two years, with the last few weeks being particularly intense. The main problem is that you can make a game, but it’s very difficult to make a game where the underdog has a good enough chance of winning. The maths just doesn’t work.

I feel like the hypomania is flowing out of me and I’m heading into a slight depressive phase. The jetlag is wearing off, things are normalising. Writing is becoming harder. What should I write about? There’s always music: let’s see which is the best Led Zeppelin album. I’ll compare II and IV.
Led Zeppelin II
Hits: Whole Lotta Love, What is and What Should Never Be, Heartbreaker, Living Loving Maid, Ramble On, Moby Dick, Bring it on Home
7/9
Led Zeppelin IV
Hits: Everything except Four Sticks.
7/8
It’s close but I think Led Zeppelin IV just about wins. It doesn’t have Thank You on it which is a terrible song and though the riff in Moby Dick is great, the drum solo can drag. In other news, how did Zeppelin lose to Pavement in the World Cup of Music? I might have to go back over that and instigate some criteria.
